Each project is tailored to the needs of the client; below is a list of services that Katie offers.
Interior Design
Katie takes time to really understand what you want from the space, how you use it, what is and isn’t working for you and what your style preferences are. She surveys the space, and how it fits in with the rest of the property. Together this information is analysed through an in depth process and translated into an inviting scheme which is individual to you, and works both aesthetically and ergonomically. Alongside the creation and layout of the design, she sources all elements - from paints and wallpapers, flooring, furniture and lighting to fabrics, artwork and accessories.
Garden Design
Katie runs through an extensive questionnaire with you to fully understand your preferences and aspirations. She surveys the existing features, aspect, climate and soil type of the garden, and how the space relates to the house and the surrounding area. Every element is analysed through a detailed design process. This results in a proposed design which will deliver on all levels, accompanied by layout plans, planting lists, hard landscaping materials, and the sourcing of all furniture, lighting and accessories.
Project Co-ordination
The implementation of a design often involves a number of tradespeople, suppliers and a complex schedule. Katie can oversee this by offering a full or part Project Co-Ordination and purchasing service, depending on the requirements of the client.
Lighting Design
Choosing the right lighting can sometimes feel overwhelming, with all the different types and styles on offer. It is however such a key element to transforming a space, and the subtle layering of lighting is a fundamental part of any design. As well as sourcing all the lighting for your project, Katie can produce a specific lighting plan detailing all the circuits and specifications for an electrician to install.
Planting Plans
You may have the desired structure of the garden, but require help with the planting. It is essential that the planting not only looks beautiful year round, but is hardy enough to cope with the Scottish climate. Katie uses her expertise to choose the right plants for your garden in terms of aspect, climate and soil type. She can also purchase the plants on your behalf and position them in place ready to be planted out.
Bespoke Joinery
Sometimes the best solution for a space is to create something bespoke, whether it be an in built bookshelf, a garden seating area or something more extensive. Katie will design this, producing detailed drawings for a craftsman to create.
